My art framed by a label.
I love introducing type into my illustrations to see how they interact. Some typefaces add new levels of dimensionality to the art. This typeface worked nicely with the art and the subject matter, giving it a rich and flavorful feeling.
Hey, I made it into the first 100 illustrators this week!

This week's word.
It is an amazing feeling to perform. The adrenaline is going, the lights, the band, the mic. Your words, your song, your thoughts, your heart, your voice. And you begin... measure after measure you give it your all, hoping that maybe you've put into words what someone listening out there has wanted to say but didnt know how.
I haven't written any music for a while. Little bits of things recorded here and there, tucked away for another day. It would be fun to do again.

I know Ive stumbled across Illustration Friday at some point in my net life, but a good friend sent me his entry for this weeks word. I stopped in and checked out about 50 other artists work and i felt compelled to participate.
The word: Simple
My image: A paper clip.
With all our fabulous technology and innovation in the 21st century, could any of us really find a more effective, more integrated, more essential, or simplistic device?
I rely on the paper clip just like I rely on my broadband cable internet connection, mobile phone, scanner, photoshop and macintosh. It doesnt run on electricity, has no software, does not require a users manual and does what it does very efficiently at very minimal cost. To my knowledge it hasnt been substancially upgraded in over 60 years. I dont have to spend money on the newest version. The old model is never obsolete and it is cross platform: an idiot or a genius can use it.

This week I was able to squeezed out a few more images for my promotional product line, Limited Images. The one Im showing here is a mouse pad.
The January storm of work that came in has given me opportunity to send a number of first-time clients some of these new items from my promotional line to say 'thank you'.
I also stock up on my own creations, every day I drink out of my own Crush coffee mugs and thoroughly enjoy doing so.
I like to go to my web store and pick out creations to send to my clients. Its kind of like Christmas for me. Its feels good to give back. I only wish I could be there when they get the box.
